Destination: Superbloom

The Story

Destination: Superbloom is a culmination of years of studying coastlines and the magic they bring. The last few years have been lush with what has been deemed a “superbloom” in California and I’ve loved packing up my French easel and pochade box trying to capture the colors, the patterns and the essence of the landscape.

Back in my studio I pushed the boundaries of my inclination to paint realistically and move to a stylistic approach. Relying on bold colors, shapes and patterns to define the landscape.

This collection explores various coastlines and the ways in which they come alive with various blooms of shells, waves, flowers and lush foliage.

The following is my abstract representation of the color and movement of the coast. I am so excited to partner with Marianna Stark and M Stark Gallery to bring you all Destination Super Bloom.
