Original Art work coming soon
Here we are in June. Somehow the days have clipped into weeks and the summer is upon us. These days, I’ve got full hands and a full heart, trying to soak up precious time with the boys' childhoods and be as present as possible. I’m in a season where I'm taking work at a slower pace—Spending a little more time with littles and a little less in the studio. Admittidly, at times I find this frustrating when the very small window I’ve tried to carve out to work each day gets shifted. Then I remember all too well how fast this season will close and how soon I will long for these days.
This past spring I had my very first solo show and wow, what an incredible experience it was. I was able to show a body of work that I love and I sold nine pieces! I’m so so grateful to everyone that came out to support my work. I was fortunate enough to be included in two local publications about the show—Along with a packed opening reception, a hosted sketch meet up, an art talk, and a closing reception. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience to convince me that I AM, indeed, ready to venture outside my little studio and share my original art with all of you.

A few things that I learned; People actually like MY work. I'd wager that most of you started following my work from a bookish platform—likely the wizard series or LOTR inspired work. And it seems you're still following even though I’ve slowed down my pace from making products and bespoke home goods. Right now I am following my gut and your feedback, by focusing on smaller, more manageable/shipable pieces. All said, if there is ever any interest in larger paintings don't be shy, reach out!
Working small has allowed me the flexibility to move my “studio” to the backyard and paint alongside both boys, through naps or while they paint their own masterpieces, I can set up small stations all over the house and stay creative while being as present as I can for them.
Next week I’ll be releasing a very small collection of originals, that you can purchase on my website and have shipped to you. It's a continuation of the series I did for the gallery, exploring the magic of coastlines. I'm both excited and incredibly nervous as this is a bit of a departure from the work that I have been doing over the past several years, but it's work from the heart.
Look out for more updates on a look book, with full details on each painting available. Cheers friends!
